Eligibility:
Each activity is intended to have an explicit conservation focus, with an emphasis on clear on-ground conservation benefits. Successful applicants will ordinarily hold a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) and be below the age of 30 on the on the first of July in the year of application. Applicants must hold Indian nationality and be resident in India at the time of applying.

Fellowships Programs Description: The Ravi Sankaran Fellowship Program can help. This Program has been set up in memory of the late Dr. Ravi Sankaran who followed up his detailed field studies of wild species with innovative projects to conserve their populations. Fellowship recipients will receive a stipend, travel funds and an amount covering course fees (where relevant). The Small Grants activity usually provides funding up to a maximum of Rs 200,000 per year.

Candidates with an academic background in comparative politics, international relations, transnationalism, migration, foreign policy analysis, or other relevant post-graduate experience are encouraged to apply. Advanced quantitative skills are required. The post-doctoral fellow will develop a code-book and questionnaire, pre-test the survey, organize an international expert workshop and the final conference, analyze the survey data, and assist in the production of an edited volume. S/he will also conduct their own research including the Kurdish diaspora mobilization in selected EU countries, EU institutions, and in Turkey. There is also a teaching requirement of approximately 1 ½ courses (of 14 weeks) per academic year.

Scholarship Description: A team of four researchers (PI, post-doc, two Ph.D. researchers) will investigate the transnational mobilization of conflict-generated diasporas in Europe and their impact on polities experiencing contested sovereignty in the Balkans, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. The team aspires to answer an overarching question: does the mobilization of conflict-generated diasporas in liberal states have a mitigating or exacerbating effect on political conflict in homelands experiencing contested sovereignty? The overall project focuses on five levels of analysis: 1) the attitudes of elite and non-elite individuals, 2) characteristics of specific groups, 3) five nation-states with different migrant incorporation regimes (France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK), 4) diaspora linkages to supranational EU and global institutions, and 5) diaspora mobilization patterns specific to each of the three conflict-prone regions. Complementing the results of the comparative studies, the project will also conduct a cross-country representative survey to capture attitudes of non-elite individuals in 25 country-groups.

Eligibility: must possess professional qualifications and experience appropriate to the specific fellowship applied for
-must be currently engaged in pulmonary research or clinical pulmonary practice.
-will typically be under 40 years old
-should be members of the APSR.
-must be on the staff payroll of a university, research laboratory, institute or hospital to which they will return at the end of the fellowship.
- must select a host laboratory in the APSR region.
-must have adequate fluency in a language that permits effective communication at the host institution.

This Fellowship is designed to be a one or two year training opportunity: year one (the core Fellowship) will have a clinical emphasis, while providing for some research involvement as well. There is the potential for an opportunity to continue on to a second Fellowship year, which would be primarily research-oriented. In order to continue on into a second year of Fellowship training, the candidate would need to identify and secure appropriate research funding
