Institute of Molecular Biology offers Postdoctoral Research Fellowships program in the field of Molecular Biology in Germany Scholarships 2011
Study Subject: Signalling to Chromatin crosstalk during Stem Cell Differentiation
College Scholarships Level: Postdoctoral
Scholarship Provider: Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation
Scholarships can be taken at: Germany
Eligibility:
-Have a PhD in molecular biology, preferentially with a background in computational analysis of biological datasets, genomics, epigenomics or systems biology
-Have strong experience in a few of the following areas: stem cell biology, epigenetics, computational biology, embryonic development, proteomics and cell signalling
-Be interested in learning computational biology tools for genome-wide analysis of histone modifications, DNA methylation and transcription factors .
-Employ cutting-edge epigenomics technologies (genome-wide assays such as ChIP-seq, RNA-seq) and standard molecular biology and epigenetics tools in combination with computational biology to study chromatin crosstalk of MAP kinases during cellular differentiation
-Utilize mouse embryonic stem cell differentiation and mouse as a model system
- Have access to all IMB Core Facilities .
-Be competitive at the international level and willing to collaborate with internal and external collaborators as well as supporting other group members
International Scholarships for International Students: No
Scholarships Description: The newly founded Institute of Molecular Biology gGmbH (IMB) is a Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences, funded by the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation, and located in Mainz, Germany. Applications are invited for a PhD student. The successful applicant will contribute to internationally competitive research on the epigenome crosstalk of cell signalling pathways during development and differentiation. The group employs high- throughput epigenomics assays such as ChIP-seq and RNA-seq in combination with stem cell biology and cutting-edge epigenetics and molecular biology tools. The resulting dataset are analysed using computational biology approaches to generate a comprehensive model of signalling to chromatin crosstalk during development and differentiation.
