Katharine H. Putnam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Study in Plant Science, Harvard University USA 2011

Scholarships Description :The Putnam Fellowships award provides stipends of up to $40,000 per year, depending on professional status, need, and duration of the fellowship. In addition, modest support is available for research and travel costs. Putnam Fellows are employees of Harvard University during their tenure and are eligible for health insurance benefits.


 Putnam Fellows are expected to publish the results of their research in professional or academic journals and present their work at professional meetings and workshops.Putnam Fellows are also expected to engage fully in the professional activities of the Arnold Arboretum and be in full-time residence during their tenure. While the primary work of Putnam Fellows is conducting original independent research that utilizes the living collections of the Arboretum, Putnam Fellowship are also expected to work collaboratively with the staff of the Arboretum on other institutional efforts. Participation as an instructor for Arnold Arboretum education programs is encouraged, as is writing for Arnoldia, the Arboretum’s quarterly magazine. The fellowship is typically awarded for 1 year, with an option for a second year renewal upon review. Shorter appointments, of no less than 3 months, are also possible. Putnam Fellows must initiate their term at the Arboretum within 12 months of notification.

International Postdoctoral Fellowships Clinical Psychology VA Boston USA 2011

The overall goal of the VA Boston Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowships Training Program is to produce independently functioning clinical psychologists

Fellowships Description: The structure of the VA Boston Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowships Program follows a multiple practice format as defined by APA’s Policy Statements and Implementing Regulations.

The Fellowships Program is organized into two separate areas:
1. the substantive traditional practice area of Clinical Psychology, and
2. the specialty practice area of Clinical Neuropsychology.
Within the Clinical Psychology Training Program, we offer training in six areas of emphasis (“tracks”):
1. Geropsychology
2. General Mental Health
3. Medical Psychology
4. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
5. Returning Veterans and Substance Use
6. Substance Abuse.

Within the Clinical Neuropsychology Training Program, we offer training in two areas of emphasis (“tracks”):
1. Geriatric Neuropsychology
2. Polytrauma.

Both Training Programs exist within the overarching structure of the Fellowships Program and are independently accredited by APA. Our next accreditation site visit will be in 2015.
During the 2011-2012 training year, the VA Boston Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowships Program anticipates it will provide training for nine full-time Fellows in the traditional practice of Clinical Psychology. We will also provide funding for one full-time Fellow in Clinical Neuropsychology – Polytrauma Emphasis.

International Fellowships description: The Graduate School is offering several competitive fellowships for advanced graduate students in the write-up stage of their dissertation. These fellowships will be funded in part from a generous endowment established by Katherine Stern.


The Stern Dissertation Fellowship provides an annual stipend (equivalent to the Graduate School recommended stipend established each year), as well as tuition and mandatory fees. In addition, the Graduate School will pay the health insurance premium for recipients who enroll in the Duke student medical insurance plan.
